VDMIA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL TIME!

If you haven't received your 2012 VDMIA membership letter please click on the 'Join Now' at left to complete an application. Just complete, print, and remit payment to: VDMIA Membership Committee, P.O. Box 67314 - St. Pete Beach, FL 33736.
Annual dues for January - December 2012 are $25.00 per household.
The deadline for all 2012 dues is March 31, 2012.

Graduating High School Senior?

VINA DEL MAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

This scholarship program is for GRADUATING SENIORS (SPRING 2012) who wish to submit applications for consideration. Please review the parameters, requirements and times lines listed below required for consideration.

Minimum requirements:

1. Be a current Vina Del Mar Island resident
2. Be a Vina Del Mar Island Association Member for a minimum of the last three (3) years
    and in good standing.
     * Meaning that Membership dues paid in full each and every year (3 years
        consecutively)
3. Be a graduating Senior from an accredited area high school
4. Have a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (4 years)
5. Be active in school and in the community with an emphasis on extra-circular volunteer
    activities within the local community
6. Be active (specifically) in Vina Del Mar and Pass-A-Grille and St. Pete Beach
    activities/events
     * Beach Goes Pops, Vina Del Mar Children Events, Environmental/Coastal Clean ups etc.

All applicants must:

Complete a scholarship application and submit by March 1th, 2012 (postmark date) which will include:

1. The name of college/university planning to attend
2. A letter detailing reasons why they should be considered for a scholarship from the VDMIA
3. Three (3) references and letters of recommendation by those references
4. Contact information of their High School College Advisor
5. An official copy of high school transcripts
6. A list of extracurricular activities and community service activities and programs
7. Any additional information that may be beneficial to the Scholarship Committee

Application process:

1. All applications and applications materials must be submitted/post marked by March 1st,
    2012 (no exceptions).

       FL. 33736-7314 / Attn: Scholarship
2. All applicants must be available to attend (and be recognized) at Vina's Annual Dinner
    meeting in March 2012
3. Scholarship winners will be notified no later than March 7th, 2012
4. Scholarship nominees (see minimum requirements) and award amounts are at the
    discretion of the VDMIA Scholarship Committee and are submitted to the VDMIA
    board by the Scholarship Committee and are subject to the approval by a majority
    of the Vina Del Mar Island Association Board.

Upcoming Events
VOLUNTEER TODAY
Due to the budget constraints and personnel cut backs, the City of St. Pete Beach is in need of a volunteer to work the switchboard at the City Hall. It would be from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm, one day a week. The position requires minimal training.

If you are interested in donating your time to help our city government, please call Rebecca C. Haynes at 727-363-9220. The address of the St. Pete Beach City Hall is 155 Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach, Fl 33706.
